Some sketch pages from the past couple weeks that I liked. There will be more figurative studies to come in the next couple weeks as I get back into the swing of it.
Last week my fathers US Forest Service Fire Patrol crew in Las Conchas, NM, requested a t-shirt design be made to mark the largest fire in New Mexico’s history. Folks on reservations surrounding the area felt that “angry” spirits should somehow be included in the drawing and forest officials seemed to like that idea as well.
Here’s another fast black and white sketch that will cover the reverse side of panel 3 when opening the CD package spread that was told was all set to begin a finished painting.
I’m beginning to experience typical “fix this and that” requests of an art director (in this case both a director and lyricist) to keep adding more content into an already chaotic number of scenes but it will be one jam-packed wonderland full of fun in the end. This 3 panel spread will keep me heavily armed with a hand held fan to use in place of a portable blow dryer..quite handy I’ve found :)
…Don’t ask me why the doors opening from left to right in that drawing. I just nodded then shook my head at this person.
A couple recent drawings that will become paintings by the end of the week.
Squirrels are totally mischievous. You know it. I’ll go for a washed out Arthur Rackham color pallete and create a wierd juxtaposition for the subject matter.
and..
